Newcastle has a fresh addition to its vibrant landscape with the arrival of The Nursery on Glebe – a blossoming plant haven in the heart of Adamstown.

The minds behind this green oasis are couple, Grant and Brooke, and long-time friend Anthony– each bringing their unique expertise and passion for plants to create a space for gardening enthusiasts and landscape design aficionados alike.

Grant and Anthony, with their backgrounds in landscaping and a shared love for plants, found a natural synergy in merging their individual businesses.

“We get along and we’ve known each other for a really long time so it was a no-brainer to have the businesses come together,” Grant said.

This partnership rooted in friendship, expertise, and passion laid the foundation for The Nursery on Glebe’s inception.

The journey to opening the nursery wasn’t without its challenges and surprises, but on Friday 19 April, the doors officially opened.

Located on Glebe Road across the road from Adamstown Bowling Club and The Bondwood, and within the same complex as Habitat and Local Customs, Anthony recalls it’s been a spot he’s had his eye on for quite some time.

“I drove past one day and realised they’d moved some pots. I pulled in straight away and started the conversation with the girls from Habitat,” Anthony said.

The Nursery on Glebe offering provides not only its wide selection of top-quality plants, pots, and other products but also the expertise that comes with it.

“Majority of the plants in here come direct from the grower. We both grow plants with a passion but we have also both done landscaping. We know what works and what doesn’t work for gardens in the Newcastle area.

“Over the years we’ve tried our products, we’ve tested them, and we know how to maintain them. When people ask what will grow in a particular spot, we know straight away what will and won’t work.”

This level of knowledge and firsthand experience ensures that customers not only find great quality products, but also receive expert guidance tailored to their individual gardening needs.

“We’re often working with landscapers and designers that may come direct to us. If someone comes to us with a landscape design with a list of plants, we can source them,” Grant said.

This collaborative spirit extends beyond the nursery, with the trio hoping to build life-long relationships with their customers.
